My home onRose Street is part of a community defined by its quiet streets and open feel, and the plan to pack 84 units into a narrow 150-foot strip of land feels like a total disregard for the peoplealready living here. Building four or five stories right against the backyards of my neighbors is inappropriate for a low-density area and will lead to a significant loss of privacy andneighborhood character. The cumulative impact of development in Northwest Bozeman has reached a breaking point. Traffic is already heavy, and routing nearly 170 additional cars through residential streets likeFarmall and Caterpillar is a recipe for gridlock and accidents. The proposed parking is also grossly inadequate, which means overflow will inevitably clog our narrow neighborhoodroads. I am also worried about the city moving forward with zoning actions while we are supposed to be engaged in a consensus-based process. We were promised a collaborativeapproach in January, and it feels as though the city is undermining that trust. I am asking you to honor the original purchase agreement to preserve open space and to scale this project backto something compatible with Harvest Creek, such as lower-density, two-story homes with adequate setbacks.
