For two decades, my family has treasured the quiet nature of Harvest Creek and the beautiful open spaces andirrigation ditches that border our homes. The city’s current proposal to cram 84 units into a narrow 150-foot strip of land is simply not feasible. After accounting for the necessaryinfrastructure, the buildable area is so small that these four or five-story structures will Tower over our backyards, destroying the privacy we have enjoyed for a generation. Furthermore, theplan to route all traffic through Farmall and Caterpillar Streets is a recipe for disaster. These quiet residential roads were never built to handle the volume of 168 additional vehicles. I bikethrough this area constantly and already worry about pedestrian safety; adding this level of density without direct access to Fowler Avenue is irresponsible. This development alsothreatens the commitment made in 2017 to preserve our existing trees and open spaces. We were promised a consensus-based engagement process, and I ask that you honor that bymoving away from this high-density R-3 model toward something like the Bridger View project, which respects the scales, parking needs, and character of the families who live here.
