Subject: Public Comment on Fowler Avenue Housing Development
As a long-term resident of 3123 John Deere Street, I am writing to express my deep oppositionto the Fowler Housing Development proposal. The city's current plan to squeeze 84 units into
a narrow 150-foot strip of land is functionally impossible without sacrificing the privacy andproperty values of twenty-one adjacent families. For over two decades, I have enjoyed the
wildlife and green space this parcel provides, and I recall the 2017 promise to preserve thetrees and irrigation ditch. This proposal ignores those commitments and replaces them with a
cramped alleyway and surface parking right against our fences. I am a retiree who enjoyswalking and biking through this area, and the prospect of 168 additional cars being routed
through narrow residential streets like Farmall and Caterpillar is terrifying. These roads werenever designed for this volume, and the lack of a proper roadway buffer creates significant
noise and light pollution. Additionally, these units are priced far beyond what is consideredaffordable, yet we are asked to bear the tax burden for new infrastructure and the strain on our
already overcrowded schools. I ask that you honor the consensus-based engagement processpromised to our HOA and limit development to a density that matches our neighborhood, such
as the Bridger View model, which prioritizes green space and human-scale design.
