Subject: Public Comment on Fowler Avenue Housing Development
I am writing to express my deep opposition to the Fowler Housing Development proposedbetween Oak and Annie Streets. The scale of this project is fundamentally broken. Trying to
cram 84 units and 168 cars onto a narrow 150-foot strip of land is not just poor planning, it isdangerous. The infrastructure in this area—our water, sewer, and residential roads like Farmall
and Caterpillar—was never designed to handle this level of density. Forcing all that trafficthrough our quiet neighborhood streets instead of providing access from Fowler is
unacceptable. My neighbors and I face years of disruptive construction, dust, and heavy trucktraffic, only to be left with 5-story buildings looming over our backyards with zero roadway
buffer. This proposal blatantly ignores the 2017 commitment to preserve our green spaces andwildlife corridors. Furthermore, labeling units priced up to $650,000 as affordable is insulting
to the community. The City Commission previously agreed to a consensus-based process withour HOA, yet these separate zoning actions feel like a betrayal intended to undermine those
negotiations. We are asking for a development that matches the Bridger View model—low-profile, human-scale, and respectful of the existing environment. Please stop this high-density
push and honor your commitment to the residents of Harvest Creek.
