I am writing to the Community Development Board and City Commission to voice my strongopposition to the R-B rezoning proposal for the Hanson Lane annexation, Application 25775. This is not the Montana way! Long-time Bozeman residents are being left behind in favor oftop dollar developers. As a homeowner who has lived in this area for over twenty years, I am deeply concerned that the city is considering five-story buildings in a space surrounded byquiet, single-family homes. I have made a long-term commitment to this neighborhood, and for what? I high rise? I choseHarvest Creek specifically for its low-density character, pride of ownership and peaceful atmosphere. Seeing a high-rise proposal right next to our backyards is incredibly disturbing. This is textbook spot zoning that ignores the R-1 and R-2 patterns of our neighborhood. Beyond the loss of character, I am worried about the dangerous precedent this sets for theentire Fowler corridor. The extension of Annie Street into a through street without traffic calming is a recipe for accidents and NOISE, especially with Emily Dickinson Elementary soclose by. We already face enough congestion, and adding this level of density will strain our water andsewer infrastructure beyond what it was ever built to handle. I feel like the city is prioritizing top-dollar developers over the residents who have invested their lives here. Please consider thesafety of our pedestrians, out long term commitment to this community and the integrity of our community by sticking to R-A zoning, which actually fits our neighborhood.
