As a resident of Buckrake Avenue for nearly a decade, I am writing to formally oppose the R-B zoning request for the Hanson Lane annexation, Application 25775. This proposal represents textbook spot zoning, attempting to shoehorn five-story, forty-five-foot tallbuildings into a quiet area currently defined by R-1 and R-2 single-family homes. As a retiree who chose Harvest Creek specifically for its low-density, peaceful character, I am deeplyconcerned that this sets a dangerous precedent for the entire Fowler corridor. R-A zoning is the only appropriate classification here, as it satisfies the Urban Neighborhood designationwithout destroying the established neighborhood pattern. Furthermore, the extension of Annie Street as a through-way toward Emily Dickinson Elementary creates a severe safety hazard forthe many children and seniors, like myself, who regularly walk and bike these streets. Without traffic calming or a comprehensive traffic impact study, this annexation risks turning ourresidential streets into a dangerous raceway. I urge the Community Development Board to recommend R-A zoning and request an extension of the public comment period so moreneighbors can voice their concerns about the loss of our quiet community character and the potential for rising tax burdens to support this unnecessary high-density infrastructure. We livein Bozeman for the ability to step outside and feel grass under our feet, not to be shadowed by high-rise developments. Carol Fifer
