I am writing to the Community Development Board and City Commission to express myprofound opposition to the proposed R-B rezoning for the Hanson Lane annexation,
Application 25775. As a homeowner who has lived at 3585 and 3583 Annie Street for over adecade, I have watched this neighborhood grow into a sanctuary of community and safety. My
daily life is defined by walking and biking through these streets, and the thought ofintroducing five-story high-rise buildings into our low-density residential area is
heartbreaking. This proposal is a textbook case of spot zoning that completely ignores theestablished R-1 and R-2 character of our homes. The transition from our quiet single-family
neighborhood to an intense R-B zone is jarring and inappropriate for an area that lacks thetransit and services to support such density. Furthermore, extending Annie Street into a
through-way without significant traffic calming creates a massive safety risk for the childrenwalking to Emily Dickinson Elementary. This rushed timeline has lacked meaningful
community input and threatens to destroy our neighborhood character while placing an unduetax burden on current residents to support the necessary infrastructure. I formally request a
comprehensive environmental and traffic impact study before any vote is taken. We mustprotect our livability and the property values we have worked so hard to build. Please consider
R-A zoning as a much more compatible alternative that respects the people who already livehere.
