I am writing to the Community Development Board and City Commission to express mystrong opposition to the proposed R-B zoning for the Hanson Lane annexation, Application 25775. As a resident at 3120 Lily Drive who has lived in this area for over twenty years, Ihave seen Bozeman grow, but this specific proposal is a textbook case of spot zoning that ignores the established character of our neighborhood. Placing five-story, high-densitybuildings directly adjacent to R-1 and R-2 single-family homes is a radical departure from the surrounding development pattern. The R-A zoning designation is a much more appropriate fitfor this location, satisfying the Community Plan without forcing extreme intensity into an area that lacks the transit and services to support it. Furthermore, I am deeply concerned about theextension of Annie Street. Without significant and permanent traffic calming measures, this will become a dangerous thoroughfare for commuters cutting through toward Emily DickinsonElementary. After two decades here, I know how the local traffic flows, and this plan creates unacceptable safety risks for pedestrians and cyclists. The lack of adequate parking for suchhigh density will only exacerbate these issues, pushing overflow onto residential streets. This project as currently designed is fundamentally flawed and should be reconsidered to align withthe R-A density of the families who already call this area home. Brandon Hays
