First, huge kudos to the city's efforts so far in creating safe walking and bicycle infrastructure.
My family with 3 kids bikes year round, and greatly appreciates all the separated bike pathsthe city has made (We use Graf St, Gallagator, bike boulevands down Tracy Av, Grant Av,
and N. Bozeman Av, etc), especially efforts to keep bike paths on 11st and Graf clear duringthe winter. Besides a few key problem spots, we love being able to feel safe biking around
(south side and downtown areas of town).
One major bummer we encounter frequently is how poor and uninviting Main St and 7th Avare for biking and walking. Such a disconnect for the welcoming and safe infrastructure that's
forming around the rest of the city!
Second, while there's been clear progress in some areas of the city, the fast growth in otherareas seems like it's getting way way way too much priority over safety! How are we ok with
having so many traffic fatalities for walkers, runners, or bikers in this town! In the developingareas of town, we should not be cutting corners as giveaways to developers. We should take
the time NOW to set up the western side of town for safety and active transportation, ratherthan building problems for ourselves down the line.
More biking and walking design please...please continue to prioritize safety for active
transportation all around the city!
Thank you,
