To the City Commission,
It has been devastating to see the fatality and injury of two community members in the past months caused by
careless driving and lack of traffic calming and protections for pedestrians. It has been equally as difficult to
understand the lack of true action from the city beyond installing one flashing light where a woman was killed.
There are many other crossings in that area presenting the same safety hazard to pedestrians that remain
unimproved. It seems like time for the city to take a proactive rather than reactionary stance on this issue before
more community members are harmed. Please start prioritizing pedestrian safety over vehicle convenience.
