I am writing to express my strong opposition to the proposed annexation and R-B rezoning of the Hanson Lane parcel, Application 25775. As a resident who has lived at 3202 Lily Drive for nearly a decade, I chose this neighborhood specifically for itsquiet, low-density character. The request for R-B zoning is an example of inappropriate spot zoning that wouldallow five-story buildings directly adjacent to our single-family homes. This intensity is entirely inconsistent withthe surrounding R-1 and R-2 development and would fundamentally destroy the character of our community. I amparticularly concerned about the extension of Annie Street as a through road. My grandchildren attend the nearby elementary school and we walk on this route daily. Without significant trafficcalming, this becomes a dangerous raceway for students. We also go to the little park right off of Farmall every day. Our neighborhood park, and all the children who play there, will be in jeopardy if there is increased traffic on AnnieStreet. Furthermore, our area lacks the transit and services to justify such high density; the nearest shopping is over a mileaway. This proposal would cause a significant strain on our water and sewer infrastructure while causing property valuesto plummet. I formally request a comprehensive environmental and traffic impact study before any vote is taken. An R-A zoningdesignation is a far more appropriate fit that respects the existing family-oriented neighborhood. Please listen to our comments and make the decision that is best for our children and our neighborhood. Sincerely,Nancy McNabb
