Dear City Commissioners,
I am writing to respectfully urge you to prioritize funding and implementation of safer roadinfrastructure for pedestrians and cyclists in Bozeman. Those who are walking or cycling to
work, school, or for fun should feel safe and be protected. Too many people have been killedor injured for this to continue to be an issue!
I encourage the Commission to invest in measures such as protected bike lanes, improvedcrosswalk visibility, traffic calming strategies, and additional law enforcement to crack down
on distracted drivers.
I urge the city to lobby the legislature to loosen or change the restrictions on how
transportation revenue is spent. I urge the city to put in more blinking lights at crosswalks. Iurge the city to hire more traffic officers to deal with speeding or distracted drivers. There
needs to be some consequence for those who are breaking the law and putting people indanger.
Safer streets are not just a matter of convenience—they are a matter of public safety andequity. Children walking to school, families enjoying parks, and individuals commuting by
bike all deserve infrastructure that protects them.
Thank you for your time and for wanting to protect those who call Bozeman home.
