To the City Commission, I am writing today regarding the Fowler Housing Developmentproposed between Oak and Annie Streets. My home on Farmall Street sits directly in the path of the traffic this development would generate. Routing the traffic for eighty-four units—potentially 168 cars—through residential streets like Farmall and Caterpillar is a massive mistake. These roads were never designed for that kind of volume, and because there is noplanned access from Fowler Avenue itself, our quiet neighborhood streets will become congested thoroughfares. My family and I have lived here for nearly ten years, and my kids rely on these streets to get toschool safely. The current plan provides grossly inadequate parking, which will inevitably lead to overflow on our narrow roads, creating even more hazards for pedestrians and cyclists.Furthermore, proposing five-story buildings on a narrow strip of land right against our backyards shows a total lack of regard for the privacy and property values of long-timehomeowners. There is no roadway buffer here like we see in other parts of Bozeman. I am also disappointed by the rushed timeline and the lack of meaningful outreach to those of us mostaffected. The City Commission previously agreed to a consensus-based process with our HOA, and I ask that you honor that commitment rather than pushing through a high-densityproject that feels completely out of scale with the Harvest Creek community. We need a development that respects our neighborhood’s character and prioritizes the safety of thechildren who live here. Evan Locke
