I am writing to express my strong opposition to the proposed R-B zoning for the Hanson Lane annexation, Application 25775. As a homeowner in Harvest Creek who regularly walks and bikes through this specific area, I am deeply concerned that allowing five-story mixed-use buildings in a neighborhood characterized by single-family homes is a textbook case of spot zoning. This level of density is entirely inappropriate for our quiet residential streets and will fundamentally destroy the character and livability of our community. The R-B designation lacks the necessary transit or services to justify its intensity, yet it creates a dangerous precedent for the entire Fowler corridor. Furthermore, I am terrified of the safety risks posed by extending Annie Street into a high-traffic throughway without significant calming measures, especially with children walking to Emily Dickinson Elementary. Our schools are already overmatched and our infrastructure cannot handle this strain. I formally request an extension of the public comment period and a comprehensive traffic and environmental impact study before any vote is taken. This proposal risks our safety, our property values, and the very tax stability of our neighborhood. Please consider R-A zoning as a reasonable alternative that respects the existing Harvest Creek area. Lainey Kamrath
