I feel very grateful I'm still around after being hit by a 1 ton pickup on my bike in the parking lot of West Main McDonalds and shopping center. That was 10 years ago and have recoveredfrom 3 pelvic and 2 sacral fractures. Thank goodness I was wearing a helmet! I hope there are ongoing bike safety classes in schools, university, etc. I see riders not wearing helmets orriding without lights at night. As far as roads with a bike lane, Bozeman has tried but can do better. I try to hit traffic signals when I can and try ride as many backroads as I can. I'm sureyou have a committee for the above, right? There are more crosswalk flashers, but a person still has to be vigilant in that cars see them. One place a flashing light would be helpful is onthe crosswalk by Malcolm Story statue at Lindley Park on Main. It's probably a state road, but maybe they can be convinced its a good thing. I almost got hit there a couple months ago; thetruck on inside lane stopped, outside lane just waved at me and drove past me as I was flailing my arms to stop for me!!! Thank you in advance for spending any money needed to make our city safer whether walkingor riding. I'd be happy to be on a committee. Carol Weaver, 1303 Cherry Drive, Bozeman Sent from my Galaxy
