As a homeowner in the Harvest Creek neighborhood for several years, I am writing to share
my perspective on the Hanson Lane annexation and the proposed R-B zoning for Application25775. While I understand many of my neighbors are concerned about change, I believe we
must look at the bigger picture of Bozeman’s growth. I am supportive of density in thiscorridor because the alternative is endless suburban sprawl that eats up our beautiful Montana
landscapes. High-rise buildings and mixed-use zoning are efficient ways to house the peoplewho make our community run. Many of us who are lucky enough to own homes here forget
how privileged we are to have a slice of this town. I do not agree with the aggressive stancesome are taking to keep others out. Integrating higher density residential and commercial
spaces near our neighborhood is a step toward a more vibrant and inclusive city where peoplefrom all walks of life can afford to live. I urge the Community Development Board and the
City Commission to move forward with the annexation and the higher-intensity zoningbecause it aligns with a more sustainable and equitable future for all of Bozeman.
