I just read this column in the Chronicle: https://www.bozemandailychronicle.com/opinions/guest_columnists/mark-egge-will-we-finally-focus-on-safer-streets-for-cyclists-runners-this-time/article_eaee8d36-b62f-40d0-9781-c59c21568fbb.html?utm_source=bozemandailychronicle.com&utm_campaign=%2Fnewsletters%2Fopinion%2F&utm_medium=email&utm_content=headline
I couldn't agree more. Kelly Fulton was one of my granddaughter's teachers, and a friend of mine at church knew Leslie Brown well. Idrove the streets where they were killed all the time on the school bus I drove for 6 years, and I saw reckless driving and speeding thereALL THE TIME. I can say the same about Main Street in front of BHS, and N. Cottonwood and Oak next to GHS. On my bus, I sawflagrant red light runners and drivers ignoring the lighted stop signs on school buses ALL THE TIME. So, this is personal to me.
I understand that more traffic enforcement will require more money - so the answer is a public safety levy and a vigorous campaign todocument the losses of life and flagrant violations that occur every day all over the city, to educate the voters. In the meantime, the LTEwriter's case for more structural safety improvements should be vigorously followed and adopted.
Thank you for your attention to this matter of life and death.
