I am writing to give input for the April 14, 2025 Master Transportation Plan. Thank you for reading and considering
the public comments!
1. Shared use paths are needed where ever possible. The current bike lanes are not well maintained as the painted
lines are faded or non existent. The winter sand/gravel remains in the lanes long after it is needed. With more shared
paths, these issue and more safety would be possible.
2. More and consistent traffic control is needed, and would be greatly appreciated.
- lower speed limits within the city limits and the “doughnut” area.
3. Expanded lanes seem to increase traffic speed, which is not needed in town or the University area. I realize as
Bozeman grows that we need to plan for increased traffic, but not where there are many walkers and bike riders -
let’s plan for those. Nineteenth is a frightening place to try to cross, especially where there are turning lanes. My
alternative idea would be shared use paths.
4. The new yellow flashing lights on Kagy and beyond are a great addition; perhaps more could be installed.
Thank you for all that you do!
