I am writing to provide public comment for the Hanson Lane App 25775 Annexation andZoning. I support the annexation and the proposed higher-density R-B zoning. I live in the
Harvest Creek Subdivision at 2710 Goldenrod Ln. While I do understand why neighbors whoboarder the subject property within Harvest Creek would disapprove of this zoning ("not in
my back yard" mindset), I also believe that the correct way to grow our city is not throughhomogeneous single-family and low-rise multifamily neighborhoods, but rather by providing
pockets of high-density and mixed-use zones.
An inherent conflict exists between homeowners bordering new development and thedevelopers of those properties. I believe that the Harvest Creek neighbors opposing the initial
zoning have some valid points, but those points are specific to properties that directly borderthe subject parcel(s). I certainly would not prefer multi-story apartments adjacent to my back
yard. They did, however purchase property adjacent to undeveloped land, so this was a riskthat they hopefully considered.
