Hello,
I am writing to request that a STR Legacy be put in place for Type 2 STRs, as all other STRchanges have allowed for legacy grandfathering.
I have lived in Bozeman my entire life, and my father's family came out to Montana on thesecond wagon train to the territory. I am of the working class and have worked for Bridger
Bowl for 18 years as a Professional Ski Patroller. Both my husband and I work for the USFSas Wildland Firefighters. I have also been on Gallatin County Search and Rescue for 18 years
and am the Training Coordinator for the Helicopter Team. We are public servants dedicated toour community. We rely on the STR income from our primary residence, where we rent it less
than 30% of the year. We have had an STR license with the City of Bozeman since 2020. Removing our STR Type 2 licenses in RA zones will not help or solve the housing crisis. We
abide by all the rules and rent out our beloved primary residence, where we rent it less than30% of the year. You are not helping anyone by hurting the physically working class people
like myself with this rule. We will not be renting out our house to long-term renters because itis our primary residence and we need the flexibility to use it. I strongly urge you all to please
grandfather the current Type 2 STRs.Sincerely,
