Dear Commissioners,
I am writing to object to the elimination of STR hosting permits for the new RA zone.
We have been providing excellent (over 300 5-star reviews) STR services for well over
a decade with no complaints from our neighbors. We count on the funds that we
receive from our STR rental to help maintain this 100+ year old house. We count on
this income!
I heard about this change from a neighbor who told me that she had received a letter
from you (the City) detailing all of this. We never received that letter. Our neighbor
also mentioned that the RA zone was the only zone that didn't allow for existing STR
permit holders to be grandfathered in. Without more information, that seems rather
unfair. What is the reason behind this?
If what I've been told is true, please reconsider. Existing STR permit holders in good
standing should be allowed to continue operating and be given grandfathered STR
permits.
