I am writing to the Community Development Board and City Commission to express my strong opposition to the proposed R-B zoning for the Hanson Lane annexation, Application 25775. Having lived in this area for over twentyyears, I have seen Bozeman change rapidly, but this specific proposal feels like a step too far. This isn't just about anew building; it is about the irreversible loss of one of the few natural spaces left in this part of town. I regularlywalk and bike through this area, and I am deeply concerned that adding five-story buildings into a neighborhood ofsingle-family homes will permanently destroy the wildlife corridors and green spaces that make our communitylivable. The jump to R-B zoning is textbook spot zoning that ignores the existing R-1 and R-2 character of Harvest Creek.Beyond the height concerns, the extension of Annie Street as a through-way without significant traffic calming is amajor safety issue for children, who use these roads to get to school every day. We are being told this density isnecessary for the housing crisis, but another expensive complex won’t make a dent in affordability; it will onlydiminish the property values of long-time residents and eliminate nature that can never be replaced. I urge you toconsider R-A zoning instead, which respects the neighborhood pattern. I also request an extension of the publiccomment period so more of my neighbors can have their voices heard on a project that so fundamentally alters ourhome. Bill Stoddart406.579.6096
