I am writing to the Community Development Board and City Commission to express my deepopposition to the proposed R-B zoning for the Hanson Lane annexation, Application 25775. As a homeowner who has lived on Oliver Street for over a decade, I have watched my childrengrow up in the quiet, low-density atmosphere of Harvest Creek. Bringing five-story, mixed- use buildings into an area defined by single-family homes is the very definition of spot zoning. This intensity is completely out of character with our R-1 and R-2 neighbors. Furthermore, extending Annie Street as a through road toward Emily Dickinson Elementary without serioustraffic calming measures creates a massive safety risk for our neighborhood kids. This area lacks the transit and services to justify such high density, as the nearest shopping is over a mileaway. I am also deeply concerned that this sets a dangerous precedent for the entire Fowler corridor. I formally request that the city downzone this to R-A to match the existingneighborhood and extend the public comment period to allow for a comprehensive environmental and traffic impact study. We need to understand the full strain on ourinfrastructure and property taxes before moving forward with a plan that threatens our safety and our property values. Molly & Kyle Gunnarson -Molly
