I am writing to the Community Development Board and City Commission to express my strong
opposition to the proposed R-B zoning for the Hanson Lane annexation, Application 25775.
Having lived at 2724 Daisy Drive for nearly a decade, I have attended city meetings and remain
deeply committed to our local civic process. My neighbors' children attend school nearby and I
walk through this area daily, which makes the prospect of a five-story, high-density
development extremely alarming. This parcel is surrounded by R-1 and R-2 single-family
homes. Forcing R-B zoning here is a clear case of spot zoning that ignores the established
character of our neighborhood. The area completely lacks the transit and services required to
justify such intensity. More importantly, extending Annie Street as a through-way without
significant traffic calming creates a massive safety risk for the children heading to Emily
Dickinson Elementary. This proposal feels rushed and sets a dangerous precedent for the
entire Fowler corridor. I urge you to listen to the residents who actually live here and want a
yard and a sense of community. We need R-A zoning that honors the existing density of six
units per acre. This is your opportunity to prove that you value the safety and property values of
long-term residents over developer profits. Please keep this transition appropriate and
manageable by choosing R-A.
