The proposed annexation and R-B zoning of the Hanson Lane parcel under Application 25775is a direct threat to the stability and character of our neighborhood. As a nearby resident, I am
appalled that the city would even consider five-story, high-density buildings right next to oursingle-family homes. This is textbook spot zoning that ignores the established R-1 and R-2
patterns of the surrounding area. The intensity of R-B zoning is completely unjustified here, especially since we lack the transit and nearby services to support it. R-A zoning is the only
sensible choice that respects the Community Plan without destroying our quality of life.Furthermore, extending Annie Street into a through street without guaranteed traffic calming
creates a massive safety hazard for children walking to Emily Dickinson Elementary. Thisprocess feels incredibly rushed, with insufficient public notice and a timeline that prioritizes
developers over the families who already live here. We deserve a meaningful seat at the table, not a predetermined outcome that favors high-rise density in a low-density neighborhood. I
urge the Community Development Board and the City Commission to reject the R-B zoningand protect our community from this incompatible development.
