I am writing to the Community Development Board and City Commission to formally oppose the R-B rezoning of the Hanson Lane parcel under Application 25775. Having lived in this neighborhood for over twenty years andserved as the former President of the Harvest Creek Homeowners Association, I have seen first-hand how our localinfrastructure is already strained. This proposal represents textbook spot zoning by introducing five-story, forty-five-foot tall mixed-use buildings directly adjacent to established single-family R-1 and R-2 homes. Such an extremejump in density is entirely inappropriate for this location, which lacks the transit and services necessary to supporthigh-intensity development. The transition of Hanson Lane into a through street toward Emily Dickinson Elementary is a significant safetyconcern. Without concrete traffic calming measures, this will create a dangerous speed corridor for our children andpedestrians. I am also deeply concerned about the lack of meaningful transparency regarding this annexation. Thetimeline feels rushed, and the public notice has been insufficient. I formally request that the city extend the publiccomment period and commission a comprehensive traffic and environmental impact study before any vote occurs.Approving R-B zoning here would set a damaging precedent for the entire Fowler corridor and negatively impactour surrounding property values. R-A zoning is much more appropriate, as it satisfies the Community Plan whilerespecting the existing character of our neighborhood. Scott Bosse Sent from my iPhone
