I am writing to the Community Development Board to express my strong opposition to theproposed R-B zoning for the Hanson Lane annexation, Application 25775. Having lived on
Daisy Drive for over a decade, I have watched Harvest Creek grow into a wonderful, quietcommunity. This proposal feels like textbook spot zoning. Placing five-story, forty-five-foot
tall buildings directly adjacent to our single-family homes is completely out of character withthe existing R-1 and R-2 landscape. R-A zoning would much more appropriately satisfy the
city’s growth goals without destroying the character of our neighborhood. My biggest concerninvolves the extension of Annie Street into a through street. Children attend school nearby
and use these roads every single day. Without significant traffic calming measures, this createsa dangerous raceway right where kids walk and bike. As someone who regularly walks
through this area, I already worry about safety, and adding this level of density withoutadequate transit or local services will only make it more hazardous. I urge you to recommend
R-A zoning to maintain the safety and livability of our community.
