I am writing to the Community Development Board to express my strong opposition to the proposed R-B zoning for the Hanson Lane annexation,Application 25775. As someone who has called 3252 Lily Drive home forover twenty years, I have a deep emotional connection to thisneighborhood. From my house, I see the quiet fields that define ourcommunity, and the thought of five-story buildings looming over oursingle-family homes is heartbreaking. This proposal is a clear case ofspot zoning that ignores the established character of Harvest Creek. Ourstreets are lined with one and two-story homes, and jumping to aforty-five-foot height limit is entirely inappropriate for this location. Beyond the loss of our neighborhood's livability, I am deeply concernedabout the safety of our children. Extending Annie Street as athrough-way toward Emily Dickinson Elementary without significanttraffic calming creates an immediate hazard. We already face increasingcongestion, and adding high-intensity mixed-use development here willonly make our intersections more dangerous for pedestrians and cyclists.Furthermore, as a long-term resident, I worry about the tax burdenplaced on existing homeowners to support the infrastructure required forsuch an intense leap in density. R-B zoning belongs in areas withexisting transit and services, not dropped into the middle of a quietresidential pocket. I urge you to recommend R-A zoning instead, whichrespects our history and maintains a human scale for Bozeman. Colleen Messina
