Hello, I am writing to express my strong opposition to the proposed R-B rezoning of the Hanson Lane (Annie Street) parcel, Application 25775. As a homeowner on North Aster Avenue forseveral years, I am deeply concerned about the negative impacts this will have on our established single-family neighborhood. The proposed R-B zoning, allowing buildings up to45 feet and five stories, is a clear instance of spot zoning and is entirely inappropriate for an area predominantly characterized by R-1 and R-2 single-family homes. This sets a dangerousprecedent, opening the door for similar high-density development along the entire Fowler Avenue corridor between Durston and Oak. Such excessive building density and height willundoubtedly strain our existing infrastructure, from water and sewer systems to roads, which are not designed to accommodate this level of growth. Furthermore, extending Annie Street asa through-street to Emily Dickinson Elementary without proper traffic calming measures creates a significant safety hazard for pedestrians and cyclists, including our children. I urgethe Community Development Board and City Commission to consider R-A zoning, which aligns with the surrounding development pattern and the Community Plan's UrbanNeighborhood designation, without introducing R-B's unmanageable intensity.
