Members of the Community Development Board, I am writing to express my profound opposition to the proposed annexation and R-B rezoning of the Hanson Lane parcel,Application 25775. As a homeowner at 3172 Lily Dr., who regularly walks and bikes through this area, I am deeply concerned about the precedent this sets and the immediate impacts onour neighborhood character. R-B zoning, allowing for buildings up to 45 feet and 5 stories, is a stark contrast to the R-1/R-2 single-family homes that define the surrounding area. This is atextbook example of spot zoning and is simply inappropriate for an established low-density residential community. The notion that this area can support such intense development is flawed; it lacks thenecessary transit and commercial services, with the closest shopping a mile away. More critically, extending Annie Street as a through-road towards Emily Dickinson Elementarywithout assured traffic calming measures is a direct threat to pedestrian and cyclist safety, particularly for our children. I formally request that a comprehensive environmental and trafficimpact study be completed before any vote on this application. Approving R-B zoning here would open the floodgates for similar high-density, high-rise developments along the entireFowler Avenue corridor, completely undermining the livability and sense of community we cherish. This is not in the best interest of our town. Alanna Porter
