Board.
Dear City Commission, HPAB, and UPFB:
Our urban forest is huge part of our sense of place in Bozeman. The City of Bozeman should develop a Heritage
Tree Program to celebrate significant and meaningful trees in our city.
Heritage Trees are defined in the Urban Forest Management Plan's public engagement plan, but a Heritage Tree
Program is not mentioned by name in the UPFB's Work Plan. Please consider explicitly including a Heritage Tree
Program in the UPFB's 2026-27 Work Plan.
Please also consider having a joint meeting between HPAB and UPFB in the future to develop a Heritage Tree
Program. A joint meeting or work session could combine the expertise on both boards.
Thank you for your consideration,
Patty McGown
