Dear City Commission -
There seems to be a lot of excitement about the Bikefill project - not surprising because Bozeman is an outdoorsy
town. I own a used mountain bike and so maybe I’ll try out Bikefill’s novice trails someday.
I believe that there is a way to offer recreational opportunities while also protecting the natural features that attract
people to this area to begin with. I believe more time is needed to authentically apply plans like the Sensitive Lands
Protection Plan to projects like this. We expect developers to do the right thing by the environment - here’s an
opportunity for the City to do the right thing and set a strong precedent to avoid impacts to the natural environment.
Let’s give this plan a little bit more time so we’re sure we’re doing everything we can to protect the water, soil and
vegetation for the benefit of wildlife and our community as whole.
