Dear Fellow Montanans:
As an assist to the following project put together by the MT State Legislature
Transportation Interim Committee (TIC), I’m sending the following “Public
Transportation Survey” for you, your colleagues, your family, and your friends to
complete before the 12 noon deadline on Friday April 10, 2026. This is an
important project in which the TIC would appreciate as many responses as
possible. Many of you may have already completed this study and I thank you for
that. Maybe this is the first time you were made aware of this project and will take
the time to answer the survey questions. Please forward this to others within your
group circles for the greatest amount of participation. In closing, some of you
know of my work advocating for improved and expanded passenger rail services
in Montana and across the country. I’m not asking anyone to skew your answers
towards passenger rail. I’m encouraging all Montanans to take the survey with
responses that would apply to where you reside in the state. Thank you for your
time and attention fulfilling this request.

TIC Public Transportation Survey
The 69th Montana Legislature's Transportation Interim Committee (TIC) is conducting an interim
study on ways to improve passenger transportation service and public transit, pursuant to Senate
Joint Resolution 19 (2025).

The TIC wants a broad-based perspective on how Montanans and their families utilize various
forms of public transportation, both within local communities and for travel across the state.
The information gathered from this survey will play a vital role in helping the TIC assess current
transit services and identify areas of improvement. By analyzing community feedback, the
committee can pinpoint gaps in service, evaluate demand for new or expanded transportation
options, and prioritize enhancements to existing systems.
Your input will directly inform strategic planning and will ensure that future public transportation initiatives align
with the needs of the communities we serve. We greatly appreciate your time filling out this survey (approx.
10 minutes).
Survey closes at 12pm noon on Friday, April 10, 2026
