Re:Urban Parks and Forestry Board I am writing as a resident of Bozeman interested in seeing more public
ownership and management of our green spaces. Specifically those green spaces which offer tangible resources for
their surrounding community, such as food gardens. It is imperative that communities have access to food, green
spaces, and recreational opportunities. All of which are offered at Story Mill. However, like many public goods in
Bozeman, Story Mill is relient on private funding and management, putting access to it's benefits at risk of funding
changes on both the federal and local level. These spaces should be a constant benefit of living here and should be
provided for, and taken care of, by the city. I would love to see an expansion of public ownership in our parks as well
as an expansion of community garden spaces under public management.
