Hello Urban Parks and Forestry Board,
My name is John DiCola. I live at 597 Quinn David Lane in Bozeman. It's my pleasure to submit
a comment to the board around the potential Bikefill park.
I am a new member to the GVLT board as of January '26. I serve on the trails committee and
have had the opportunity to come into this process at a point where I could digest a lot of the
work that has already been done around Bikefill.
In terms of work done, I have been impressed with the exhaustive public engagement that has
happened, including: over 1,000 survey responses; public forums; and engagement with
different interest groups to understand both constituent wants and concerns, and to adapt the
project to community goals. The result is a park that will appeal to and service a broad
spectrum of the community from families with kids to more serious riders. At the same time
the plan conserves more than 17 acres or roughly a quarter of the land to protect wildlife
habitat and the Churn Creek drainage. So it's no surprise that our survey results show
overwhelming support and enthusiasm for the project. Great parks help to build great
communities. I hope you'll agree that Bikefill is a wonderful addition to Bozeman's park system
and a tremendous asset to the community.
Thanks for your consideration,
John DiCola
