To the members of the Sustainability Board, My name is Terry Quatraro, I am a former member of the Bozeman Beautification Advisory Board and Gallatin County Solid Waste Board . To promote Sustainability and reduce the use of single use plastics as was voted overwhelmingly by the Bozeman City residents, and to create a" Healthy Earth, Healthy You" which is the theme for Gallatin Valley Earth Day (GVED) 2026 I am asking this Board to help in the following ways: To remind the public to bring their reusable bags into the store when shopping Gallatin Valley Beyond Plastics (GVBP) and GVED are sponsoring a contest of 4th and 5th grade students in Gallatin Valley to create a poster to remember to bring their reusable bags to the store. I am asking the Sustainability Board to help select the finalists from the submitted entries. GVBP AND GVED will then select the winning poster. I am hoping that the City of Bozeman would be able to include this year's winning poster on its website. To allow GVBP volunteers to help the Bozeman City Staff reduce their use of single use plastics. GVBP is also willing to help defray the costs involved ie posters, receptacles, information on the harmful effects of microplastics In conclusion, I am also asking that this Board review information submitted by an expert on the harmful effects of microplastics and recycling, and assist in presenting the information to be included as a link on the city website under Solid Waste Thank you for your consideration on the above requests. Sincerely, Terry Quatraro 406 580 3681 Sent from my Galaxy
