Good morning, I would like to express my sincere concern regarding the proposed project and the lack of consideration it appears to show for the neighboring families on Matheson Way. This development would have direct and significant impacts on the residents who currently live in this area. The existing infrastructure—particularly 11th Street and Durston—is not capable of supporting the influx of additional traffic and congestion that a development of 182 apartments would bring. This increase in density would place considerable strain on roads that are already heavily used. Please consider the effect this project could have on the quality of life for everyday residents in Bozeman. While I understand and support the need for additional housing, building 182 apartments in this location risks undermining many of the qualities that make Bozeman such a special place to live. I respectfully ask that you reconsider the scale of this development. Reducing the number of units and incorporating more green space within the proposed complex could help lessen the disruption to neighboring homes and preserve the character of the surrounding community. I also urge you to carefully evaluate the potential environmental impacts and the effects this project could have on the wildlife. Large-scale development of this size can significantly increase stormwater runoff, reduce natural green space, and contribute to the loss of vegetation and wildlife habitat. These changes can negatively affect local ecosystems, soil health, and water quality in surrounding areas. In addition, increased traffic and density can lead to higher levels of noise, air pollution, and overall environmental strain on the neighborhood. Green space plays an important role in maintaining environmental balance and providing community value. Preserving trees, incorporating meaningful green areas, and especially maintaining natural buffers between developments and existing homes are critical to protecting both the environment and the character of the neighborhood. Thank you for taking the concerns of the Matheson Way neighborhood into consideration. Sincerely, Concerned Neighbors of Matheson Way
