As a disclosure, I am a member of the EVB, but speaking only on behalf of myself.
Dear Sustainability Board,I am very excited to see on the board's work plan a focus area on buildings and waste! The
demolition of existing structures and mature vegetation and subsequent filling of our landfillsdefinitely impacts our community's sustainability goals. It would be great to see a demolition
ordinance that requires usable materials to be salvaged instead of being landfilled. We need toproperly put a cost to throwing things in the landfill.
