Monday, March 9, 2026; 3:20 p.m. Bozeman City Commission: I am writing to comment on the March 10 City Commission meeting Action Item K.1 - Approval of the Community Engagement Plan for the Neighborhood Conservation OverlayDistrict (NCOD) Design Guidelines Update (as follows): (1) Please change the goal on page 1 of the draft NCOD Community Engagement Plan to either (a) or (b) below or a combination of (a) and (b) because both are more in line with theCommission's 2026 -2027 priorities than is the goal that is currently stated on page 1: (a) Address Bozeman’s historical character, sense of place, and natural environment. (b) Protect Bozeman’s heritage (aka heritage conservation), downtown core neighborhoods, and natural environment. (2) In NCOD engagement surveys, please include visual comparisons of building types andarchitectural styles because people don’t always know how to describe what they think is appropriate—but they know it when they see it. The historic architects on the consultant'steam will know how to translate this into design guidelines. (3) Thank you for including walking tours and surveys in the NCOD update engagement plan.
