Dear Commissioners and Staff at the City of Bozeman, I am writing in response to the tragic death of a 30-year-old woman who was struck and killedwhile crossing Oak Street from the park. This loss is devastating for her family and for our entire community. It also highlights seriousand ongoing safety concerns at this location and on Davis that require immediate action. I respectfully urge the City to take the following steps without delay: 1. Station a patrol car at this crossing for the next several days to slow traffic and increase driver awareness. 2. Install flashing pedestrian crossing beacons at each of the crosswalks along this stretch of Oak Street and Davis. 3. Address the dangerous left-turn conditions that create blind spots and conflict with pedestrians. 4. Increase active enforcement of the posted speed limit in this corridor. These are not abstract concerns. This corridor has long presented visibility, speed, and turninghazards. When known risks are not addressed, it puts residents in danger. We owe it to this woman and her family to act decisively so this does not happen again. Please let the community know what immediate and long-term safety measures will be implemented. Respectfully, Deny Staggs
