(Please distribute the following public comment to all City Commissioners in time for
tonight's meeting. Thank you).
March 3, 2026; 9:10 a.m.
Dear Bozeman City Commission:
I am writing to comment on Action Item I.3 - Resolution Adopting 2026 - 2027 City
Commission Priorities (as follows):
(1) Thank you for accepting public comment on the draft 2026 - 2027 Bozeman City
Commission Priorities, and thank you for clarifying that "The City Commission’s priorities
represent broad, high-level goals that guide the community’s long-term vision and policy
direction. These priorities set the 'what' and 'why'—the outcomes we aim to achieve and the
values that shape our decisions. Specific actions we take to further the priorities will be
included in workplans developed for each initiative."
(2) Re the priorities themselves: Regardless of the order in which the four priorities are
listed in the final version, I ask the Commission to explicitly state at tonight's meeting that:
(a) All four priorities are equally important because all four are interrelated, and
(b) All four priorities will be worked on concurrently so that all four can be achieved within
the 2026 - 2027 time frame.
Sincerely,
Daniel Carty
