Blank - Resolution Adding Ex-Officio MSU Members to Certain City BoardsFrom:RogerBlankEsq To:Bozeman Public Comment Subject:[EXTERNAL]Resolution Adding Ex-Officio MSU Members to Certain City Boards Date:Tuesday, March 3, 2026 10:12:50 AM CAUTION: This email originated from outside of the organization. Dear Commissioners, I write you opposing the resolution adding ex-officio MSU members to certain city boards. The resolution does nothing to benefit the management of the city or its respective boards. In my six (6) years of being a Bozeman resident, my experience has been that permanentresidents concerns seem to be trumped for policies that feel good but set us further back and no matter the public comment against something, it’s disregard anyway and the citycommission(s) irrespective of administration proceed to do what they are intent on doing no matter the public comment against it. Accordingly, I accept that you’ll proceed with anothervacuous feel good policy and institute the MSU appointments. However, will MSU remit tuition dollars to the boards for the educational experience the volunteers will be receivingfrom the boards and the cost of city staff time? At a minimum the qualification for an MSU student to sit on a board should be a full-time year around resident of Bozeman and one wholives off campus in a rented or self-owned home. The eligible students should have skin in the game and at least be a tax paying resident of Bozeman either through their rent or homeownership. Thank you for your consideration. Regards, Roger S.
