Good morning, It just came to my attention that the City Commission will be considering a resolution duringtheir March 3rd meeting to add MSU students as Ex-Officio members to certain City Advisory Boards. I'm in full support of this idea as it will help strengthen the relationship between theCity and MSU. But I'm asking the City Commission to add the Historic PreservationAdvisory Board and Inter-Neighborhood Council to the drafted resolution. One of the City's National Register Historic Districts is within the MSU campus. Because theHistoric Preservation Board's purpose is to support policy that encourages the protection of historic districts, it seems appropriate to have a MSU student as an Ex-Officio member on theHPAB board. Three separate City recognized neighborhood districts are adjacent (or partially contain) MSU property (Jandt, Cooper Park and University). It seems more than appropriate to add a MSUstudent as an Ex-Officio member to the Inter-Neighborhood Council to ensure neighborhood groups and the MSU student population to have a line of communication to express concernsto one another. Please add the City's Historic Preservation Advisory Board and the Inter-NeighborhoodCouncil as listed City advisory boards in the resolution considering to add MSU studentsas Ex-Officio members. Thank you for your consideration and your service to the Bozeman community. Kind regards, Allyson Brekke, AICP -- Allyson B. Brekke
