Dear City Commission, The dentists of Bozeman seem to have banded together and agreed to change how they are paid. They are charging exorbitant rates and making dental care lower income families cost prohibitive. None of them are “in network” for any of the insurance companies and instead they send in the billing request but then make their clients pay the difference immediate at time of service. They are working similar to how orthodontists work – but they are actually charging a much greater percentage for care than what they are charging to the insurance companies. Recently my wife made an appointment and the dentist is going to bill the insurance company but then also wants her to pay an additional $120 for a 30 minute annual cleaning. No x-rays, just his hygienist and a 2 minute review by him and he wants BOTH the insurance company and us to pay? HELP! Make Dental and Medical care in Bozeman affordable – this is also driving up labor costs as companies have to pay their people more…businesses will then increase their costs. We have unique inflation problem and it is going to destroy Bozeman – just look at Vale and Summit County in Colorado! Thank you, Rich Douglass
