1. Filling Commision Vacancies: 5 people ran for election and won as incumbents, not
because they had overwhelming public support, but because they were supported by acarefully orchestrated voting bloc. Solution - I believe we should move to ward based
representation where 7 elected officials are appointed to represent their individualneighborhoods. This ensures issues that represent EACH area of bozeman are receiving fair
representation.
2. Electing Ward-Based representation will slash the cost and headache of special elections to1/1000 of a percent of the city's budget. Citizen Service Stipends keep pay modest to ensure
public service remains just what it is a public service rather than electing career politicians foran exuberant cost to the public sector. Again, this also ensures fair representation across
Bozeman. Each neighborhood should receive fair representation.
