Bozeman needs an elected mayor who is well paid. We have gotten too big to have non
professional commissioners.The commissioners should be full time. They should have expectations clarified as to what the
job entails. Sitting in on Commission Meetings does not give a prospective candidate enougheducation.
It is suspected that developers are providing $$ kickbacks to approve projects because the
City Commission job is too time consuming to be able to have a part time job and serve theCity.
I approve of the deputy mayor position in a fast growing City like Bozeman. A complete
newcomer to the job of Mayor would take several months to catch up as it is a steep learningcurve.
Maybe the mayor should have a 4 year term.
