Paffhausen - Study Commission Public CommentFrom:Marc Paffhausen To:Bozeman Goverment Study Commission Cc:Traci DelVecchio Subject:[EXTERNAL]Study Commission Public Comment Date:Tuesday, January 27, 2026 8:32:23 PM CAUTION: This email originated from outside of the organization. Do not click links or open attachments unless you recognize the sender and know the content is safe. I am providing my personal public comment on the current Study Commission issues by the January 28th deadline as follows: A five or seven member City Commission of elected non-partisan “Citizen Leaders” unaffiliated with political parties, who receive modest stipends. This is a much better option than having hand-picked full-time career politicians with high salaries and benefits on this City Commission. A paid deputy mayor position is an unnecessary cost to taxpayers. The Mayor or City Manager, whichever form of government structure is chosen, should appoint offices like Police Chief, Fire Chief, City Attorney, Public Works Director, etc... Again, both of these highly paid roles are unnecessary as well. Pick one and consolidate the job responsibilities like so many other cities across this great state. Sincerely, Marc Paffhausen Bozeman, MT
