Hello,
Thank you for working so hard to involve more residents in the comment process! I’ve lived in Bozeman since
1978, and have seen many changes, both as a resident and professionally, as a now retired teacher.
Quickly, I feel good about our current Commissioner/City Manager form of government. I like the fact that we
don’t blow in the wind of whatever is the latest political leaning of the time. Stability and boundaries are my
mantra. I do believe however, that a change to the current Mayoral progression would be helpful. By the time the
elected mayor comes into office, many things can change, and it is confusing to resident voters. I also believe that a
more definite clarification of City Commissioner’s duties would be very helpful for both resident’s expectations and
for the commissioners themselves. This could be very helpful with commissioner’s accountability to voters and
amongst the commission. I hope this helps. I appreciate all the hard work that goes into being a part of a study
commission such as this - Thank you for taking this on!
Kind regards,
Kathy Close
