If residents appear satisfied with our present city government structure, why propose such radical
changes?
New members of any board/commission have a steep learning curve that would limit the
effectiveness of a newly elected mayor.
Requiring commissioners to live in a specific ward makes it more complicated and assures that at no
time will the seven best qualified
candidates be chosen.
I do not think a larger board will be more efficient.
Special elections cost money.
I strongly support non-partisan elections.
Respectfully submitted,
Jarvis Brown
former City Commissioner
former County Commissioner
