9am-1pm
Space: Bozeman Event Space
Purpose:
• Deepen relationships between commissioners and directors
• Sharpen shared analysis of what is feasible, effective, and ambitious for the city to
tackle in the next two years
• Align vision and ambitions of the commission with staff capacity and opportunities
Outcome:
• Establish draft of commission priorities
• Stronger rapport between commissioners and director team
• Alignment of city manager work plan with commission priorities
• Gather thoughts and considerations for regular meeting facilitation, timing, and
schedule
Process:
• 4-hour commission/director retreat, hosted outside city hall
• Potential second WS that further clarifies and determines feasibility, strategy, and
commission roles
• Pre-work for the commission including consulting relevant existing plans, initiatives,
and workplans
• Small group breakouts on meeting facilitation and timing
ROUGH AGENDA
9:00am – Arrive and Breakfast/coffee
9:00am-10:00am(60min) – Commission and director breakouts on meeting facilitation,
timing, schedule, defining a priority
10:00am-11:00am(60min) – Comparison of compiled CC priorities with draft CM
workplan
11:00am-12:30pm(90min) – Discussion and thinning of priorities
12:30pm-1:00pm(30min) – Mapping next steps and final adoption
